RO Writer Instructions for Employee Setup

ROWriter Instructions for Employee Setup

Your shop is now utilizing DataLynx Online as an add-on to ROWriter for managing its employee compensation program. As part of this setup, the employee number of all employees must be standardized across all shops where they may currently record time work (clock-in/out).

Please follow these procedures for (1) standardizing existing employees across shops and (2) on boarding new employees:

Existing Employees

The shop manager at each location should verify that the Employee Code for each employee in ROWriter matches a standardized list available from your company office when this program begins. To verify the employee number, please follow these steps:

  1. Open ROWriter “Configuration” from the “Start” => “All Programs” menu on your POS system.
  2. Select the Configuration menu, then Labor then Employees.

  1. On the Employee screen, verify that the “Employee Code” matches the value for Employee Number provided by your company office. IMPORTANT: If it does not match, change the value in Employee Code to match the Employee Number provided by your office and click the Save button. That’s it.

New Employees

For each new employee (per shop), the manager should setup the employee record in ROWriter using the Employee Number provided by the company office as the new employee’s Employee Code. IMPORTANT: The Employee record should be setup before the technician record is created. If this is not the case, see the “Existing Employees” section for instructions.

To setup a new employee, please follow these steps:

  1. Open ROWriter “Configuration” from the “Start” => “All Programs” menu on your POS system.
  2. Select the Configuration menu, then Labor then Employees.

  1. On the Employee screen, simply enter the Employee Code provided by your office, enter the full Name of the employee and click the Save button.
